nominal GDP
This term is a technical economic indicator used to measure the size of an economy at current market prices. It provides a snapshot of total spending but can be misleading when comparing different time periods because it does not account for inflation. A rise in nominal GDP may reflect an actual increase in production or simply a rise in the price level.
To obtain a more accurate measure of economic growth, economists compare nominal GDP with real GDP, which adjusts for inflation using a price deflator. In professional financial reporting and academic economics, this term is used strictly to describe unadjusted market value.
Ý nghĩa

The country's nominal GDP grew by 3 percent last year, although much of that was due to rising prices.
